Pappas Bros. Steakhouse

We had dinner here for my husband’s birthday and everything was excellent. The food, the service, the atmosphere. Everything was on point. The water glasses were never empty, the food runners made sure our steaks were done to our liking before they left the table (and the steaks were perfectly done). The food was delicious and the waiter provided the right balance of making sure we were taken care of but also giving us space to enjoy the meal. We will be back!

Excellent service by Christina!!! She made me feel like a queen!! The way you should feel on a FINE DINING experience! DO NOT FORGET TO TIP ANY SEEVER OR BARTENDER GENEROUSLY HERE!!!! This is FINE DINING and tips are ESSENTIAL for the flow of operations here!!! Ask for Christina or “Chrissy” when you go, you WILL NOT be disappointed!!! All the bartenders and ENTIRE staff are what make this place run like a well oiled machine and make this the PREMIER steakhouse it has the reputation for being!

Pappas Bros. exceeded our expectations. I brought my wife here to celebrate our anniversary, and the experience was truly memorable from start to finish. The service was exceptional, and nearly every dish we tried was outstanding. From the expertly crafted cocktails to the warm bread, flavorful octopus carpaccio, succulent shrimp, rich foie gras, perfectly cooked filet mignon, lobster, crab cake, and indulgent desserts — everything was top-tier. It’s clear this restaurant is committed to quality and presentation. That said, I did have a couple of minor disappointments. The Caesar salad missed the mark for me. It lacked shaved Parmesan, had an odd texture, and felt soggy and unfresh — a far cry from the crisp, bold Caesar I remember from previous visits. I didn’t get a chance to mention it to our server, as the next time we saw them was when the entrées arrived. In fact, I even double-checked the Pappas Bros. site afterward, and the version I received looked noticeably different. I’ll attach photos for comparison. I also requested anchovies for the salad, but they didn’t remotely have the flavor I enjoy at places like Truluck’s or Steak 48. I actually couldn’t finish them. Another small note: while the truffle mac and cheese was rich and creamy, the truffle flavor was a bit overpowering for my taste. I personally prefer a more subtle hint of truffle or even none at all. Prefer cheddar over truffle Mac n cheese personally. Despite these two dishes falling short, everything else was phenomenal — especially the attentive and professional service. This just might be my new favorite spot in town, and I’ve tried just about all of them. Thank you, Pappas Bros., for making our anniversary dinner so special. We’ll absolutely be back.

My husband and I had our first anniversary dinner here last night. Nothing but absolute perfection from all the staff. Roberto was incredibly attentive and helped us with everything we needed. All the servers treated us with such kindness and professionalism. I will definitely be coming back. I absolutely loved the NY strip and the chocolate mousse dessert – both were outstanding!

Steak was like no other that I’ve tried EVER. This was genuinely a life changing meal - I knew from the first taste of my steak that I had to get through college successfully to be able to come here for breakfast lunch and dinner every day. Steaks texture 10/10. Flavour 10/10. Foie gras 10/10. juiciness 10/10. We ordered the NY strip with foie gras, filet mignon, ribeye, midnight chocolate cake, and the pecan turtle tart. Robert was our waiter and he was extremely helpful and being a chef himself proved that this restaurant clearly had very experienced staff with high standards too. He was amazing! The food here is certainly above what it’s worth.

Well every time that I come to Houston this is a must in my list. We always do a reservation, and from the first moment you feel really comfortable with the attention. Great wine menu opportunity to try and combine with amazing meat pieces. For sure our favorite is the bacon wrapped scallops and au gratin potatoes , this time we try the octupus carpaccio , the taste of everything was amazing as always good quality and quantity. And of course my porter was delicious. Just looking forward to my next trip to visit you again.

My favorite special occasion spot. Service is unparalleled, food is always perfect, wine is ever-flowing. Obviously the steaks, but other standouts were the burrata, Octopus carpaccio, mersault, 2003 volnay, and the Tokaji Essencia. Thank you Chris, Sam, and Scott for the hospitality.

I didn’t bring my fancy DSLR camera because I wanted to enjoy the birthday meal with the Bois. I’m very partial to the Pappas restaurants, I think it’s the best dining chain in Htown, they are a safe choice and you know what you’ll get with their restaurants. I do think other restaurants do certain things better but as a whole, the Pappas restaurant chain is my favorite safe pick. The service here was above and beyond, the desserts were dangerous. I got a huge complimentary slice of cheesecake to take home for my birthday and it was too powerful and so good I had to eat it partially over 3 days because I felt like I would gain 5lbs lol. My friends and I got the 18oz ribeyes for like $78 per steak, and they were cooked perfectly but we felt like for some reason it wasn’t as tender and not as fatty as we would like. One of my friends didn’t even finish his steak and took it togo, as a steak connoisseur, I could tell he wasn’t satisfied so idk if it was the cow’s fault tonight. The sides were decent too. However, the drinks: espresso martinis and lychee martinis were soooo good and strong as well. I’d definitely go back and try another different cut of steak.
